Carol has 30 years experience in private practice, as a Nationally Certified and Registered Pediatric Occupational Therapist, (NBCOT). Her office is a Sensory Gym on Manhattan’s Upper West Side & East Side, where she specializes in the treatment of children from birth to 12 years of age with:

  • Developmental Delays
  • Neuro-Muscular
  • Sensory Processing
  • and Cognitive Disorders

She also treats typically developing pre-school children to prepare them for the educational expectations of Kindergarten. Her clients attend a wide variety of Manhattan’s public, private and special education schools. Some of these schools include, Dalton; Riverdale; Trinity; Rodeph Sholom; Birch Wathem, Gramercy; Parkside; Columbia Grammar; Gaynor; Learning Spring; Dwight; Trevor Day; Hobonim; JCC; Rudolph Steiner, Allen Stevenson; P.S. 199 and many more.

Carol’s approach to Occupational Therapy integrates the breadth of her more than 30 years of professional training and career experience in the performing arts and body mind sciences. Throughout her lifelong passion as a New York City based movement educator, she has had the privilege of working with populations from birth to 90 years of age, in venues in the United States and Europe. These venues include, universities; schools; hospitals; fitness facilities; homes; corporations; out reach programs; performing arts schools and theatres.

Using principles of Occupational Therapy, Laban Movement Analysis; Sports Rehab; Dance; Music; Yoga and Drama Therapy, Carol designs individualized treatment programs that meet children at their own level and inspire them to learn. She provides a playful, disciplined and nurturing environment for children to feel safe and empowered to explore their learning potential. It is her goal for children to obtain the skills and confidence they need to succeed and express themselves authentically in their homes, schools and social communities. It is her goal for parents to understand their child’s challenges, become partners in their therapeutic process and share in their successes.
